Man is a child and will forever remain one. He will therefore need constant care and affection from a woman. The old Maharani of Shivgarh knew this well, and when she was on the death bed, she entrusted her survirors to the care and attention of ehr daughter Jai Kumari. . But the family of chidlren that the deceased Maharani bequeathed to the care of Jai was a medely of tempers, as diverse and conflicting as they were bold and interpid. . Her father was an old warrior who believed unflinchingly in the code of valour. Her elder brother Devsingh believed in coexistence and peace. Her younger brother Amarsingh believed in the diehard tradition of the sword. He felt that his elder brother was too soft and tender to govern the kingdom and uphold the honour of their dynasty, and he threfore determined to take over the rulership of the Kingdom from him. . When Devsingh fell in love with Heera a common dancer, Amarsingh sought to dethrone him, using this romance as an excuse, but Jai Kumari who had the responsibility of them all, not only came to the rescue of her elder brother, but convinced the father that this romance should be consummated in marriage. But Amarsingh continued making trouble for the elder brother, and ultimately fell from the graces of the King and was divested of all ranks and also deprived of any further royal favours. Although he had behaved with total lack of consideration for his siter. Jai Kumari came to his rescue also and had him re-instated. . In the meantime she herself fell in love with Karansingh, Yuvraj of the neighbouring state of Rajgarh with whom her house had an old feud. Marriage was out of the question. Things came to a sharp head when Karansingh took a vow to carry her forcibly from her palace, and was detected and arrested. This aroused the old feud between the two houses afresh and Amarsingh seized this opportunity to rise in revolt agaisnt his father and brother; Devsingh and Amarsingh two brothers, now faced each otehr on the battlefield, while the old Maharajan looked on helplessly, having been crippled in an accident. . Amarsingh won the battle and father and brother were coptured and imprisoned, Jai Kumaris duty called her to be at her fathers side and volunteered improsonment with him. Why it seemd that evil had won ther was a sudden burst in the country clouds and the triumph of good and truth shone forth like lightning.
